FIRST VISIT
Welcome to the Ivy Endodontic Group practice.
Your dentist has referred you to us because his diagnosis indicates you require further evaluation and specialized endodontic treatment for more complicated, difficult root canal cases. Treatment can often be completed in one visit, though more complex treatment may require additional visits.
Your first consultation visit will involve the following steps:
Consultation
Your first visit will include clinical evaluation of the condition to be treated and a consultation explaining the diagnosis and treatment options. Clinical evaluation includes x-rays, digital imaging, examination, and testing pain response to bite, palpitation, percussion, sensitivity to cold and heat, and checking mobility of the tooth and the health of surrounding gum tissue. Once our evaluation and proposed treatment is approved and authorized, we can proceed with treatment on the same day.
What you will need
Please bring the following information with you at the time of consultation:
- Your referral slip and any x-rays, if applicable
- A list of any medications you are currently taking (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)
- Any allergies you may have
- Insurance information, with the subscriber information
Please inform staff prior to dental work if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.)
WE USUALLY RETRIEVE YOUR INSURANCE INFORMATION BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT, CHECK THE STATUS, AND INFORM YOU OF ANY COPAY, IF ANY, BEFORE YOUR VISIT.
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.
